First, I would like to congratulate Phil Heath on becoming Mr. Olympia, as it is quite an accomplishment.
Congrats Phil!
I know, a lot of people point to the special sauce that the professionals take as the reason they are as big as they are—failing to recognize that tons of people take the same stuff—and a lot more of it —and look nothing like the professionals.
The truth is, and anyone who has lifted for any length time will tell you—building muscle is hard work.
It takes time—pure and simple.
Even with the best genetics.
However, the message I want to try and convey with this post is—everyone knocked Phil for being narrow.
Truth-be-told, he does not have the widest shoulders—yes he has build some serious muscle on them, but he was not born with naturally wide shoulders—at least not like that of a Jay Cuter.
Of course, some would argue, who has shoulders as wide as Cutler’s—good point!
What I am getting at is this, Phil battled through narrow shoulders and became Mr. O.
So for everyone out there who looks in the mirror and sees only negatives—and no positives—think again.
Maybe, your biceps will never be twenty inches—but you have quads that would be able to stand next to any ones—including Mr. Olympia competitors.
Great!
Now simply work at maintaining your quads and trying everything to make your biceps grow.
Of course, it could be your back or your calf’s or some other body part—the point–is be great full for your strengths and work hard at improving your weaknesses.
Sure, you may never stand on the Olympia stage, but you will still have the pleasure of knowing you made the best of what God gave you.
NEVER STOP BELIEVEING
